20.The Sinkhole of Nizhny, Russia

Imagine you’re out taking a walk through a field and you come upon this massive hole in the ground. Or worse yet, the ground starts to fall out right beneath your feet! The giant sinkhole, 32 meters in diameter and more than 50 meters deep, opened in Nizhny, Russia in July 2018 and was discovered by residents near Neledino. Nobody was hurt when the hole first opened. Thank goodness this one didn’t open in the middle of a crowded, urban area. The devastation could have been catastrophic.
