14.The Falling Star Sinkhole

While many sinkholes aren’t for the faint of heart, the Bimmah Hawiyat Najm sinkhole in Oman is a great family getaway. At just 20 meters deep, the turquoise blue waters are just screaming for anyone and everyone to take a dip. While the Bimmah Hawiyat Najm, or “The Falling Star” in Arabic, was caused by the collapse of the limestone bedrock, locals say that a meteorite caused the sinkhole, hence its name.
