Avenue of the Baobabs, Madagascar

Avid photographers and travellers alike flock to the dirt road linking Morondava and Belo Tsiribihina in Madagascar which is framed by dozens of rare and ancient baobab trees, some more than 800 years old with trunks that are more than 150ft, together they stand seemingly in their infinite wisdom watching over the passers by below. So iconic have these time worn trees become that the avenue they form may become the country’s first official natural monument.
