4. Kilauea

Kilauea is a low volcano on the Hawaiian Islands, whose activities attracts seismologists from around the world. It is one of the youngest, but what is more interesting, a most active volcano.

It is gladly visited by tourists, and it gets up to 2.6 million individual visitors per year. The reason for such a high attendance rate is the fact that it is easily accessible and constantly under the supervision of experts. So there is no fear that the volcano might surprise you just as you are near the crater. It will not surprise you, but you should know that it is almost constantly erupting, since 1983. It is something you can’t see everywhere, and it is experience that will stick with you for the rest of your life.
