The Foreign Office have reported that ‘terrorists are very likely to try to carry out attacks in Niger, including kidnapping. There is a threat of retaliatory attacks in Niger due to its participation in the French-led intervention in Mali and due to Niger’s involvement in the regional fight to counter Boko Haram.’

What are we missing? The Historic Centre of Agadez was once an important trading city during the 15th century known as the ‘gateway to the desert’ and is famous for its unique earthen structures and original irregular street layout.
