Lascaux Caves in France is home to 600+ Paleolithic paintings which are predicted to be over 20,000 years old. The paintings which cover the walls and ceilings illustrate large animals (stags, cattle, bison and more) and local fuana.

Sadly, the caves which once received 1,200 visitors per day is now closed to the public (as of 1963) due to an ongoing infestation of microbial and fungal growths within the caves that have left black blemishes.
