Catch a boat to the idyllic car free island of Bang Krachao and you will discover the Bangkok Tree House. This 12-room eco-boutique inn is nestled amongst the wilderness; mangroves, palm trees, fruit orchards and bird song surround you. The most famous room here is the ‘View With A Room’ (pictured above), a high up platform in the treetops, with only a bed and a mosquito net to separate you from the elements. Ideal for the back-to-nature types! The hotel also offers treetop ‘nests’, which are bamboo cabins on stilts with a bathroom, bedroom and rooftop deck with sublime views over the lush landscape.
Bang Krachao is all about relaxing and getting back to nature. Unplugging is the order of the day. Spend your time exploring the island’s verdant trails by bike or by foot, enjoy a picnic in the wilderness, visit one of the island’s many 200 year old Buddhist temples and after dark make sure you keep an eye out for the island’s famous fireflies.
